Summary
The US onAir Network will be working with volunteers from Delaware universities, colleges, and nonprofit organizations to oversee the curation and moderation of posts, aircasts (online discussions), and in person events for the Delaware onAir Hub … related to federal, state, and local elections and government.
Our first outreach will be to University of Delaware partly because of its proximity to the state capital. We have identified many of University of Delaware’s civic engagement, academic, internship and research programs related to making democracy and civic responsibility a focus of higher learning on their campus … for students, faculty, staff, and local community. This post, over time, will have similar information on other collaborating organizations in the state.

About
The University of Delaware’s onAir chapter will initially focus on training interested undergrad and graduate students on how to curate Delaware onAir content especially submitting Top News articles, events, videos, and information and moderating forums in each post they curate.
Student curators will also work with state senate and house committee chairs to produce aircasts on issues being discussed and bills being proposed in their committees.
During election season, students with other other organizations like the League of Women Voters, will coordinate and produce aircasted debates with candidates.
The University of Delaware onAir chapter will also help to establish other onAir chapters at public and private universities and colleges throughout the state.

Searching for jobs and internships can be a daunting task, but having a strategy and knowing where to look for opportunities will make the whole process much easier.
Some individuals may graduate unsure as to their long-term career goals, while others may want to take a year or two before entering the workforce or graduate school. In those cases there are many opportunities for students to take a bridge year (also, known as a gap year).
Regardless of your career goals the Career Center provides many resources to assist with your job and internship search!
Keep in mind that building your skills in other areas, particularly networking, can present possible career options that you did not expect!

Understanding the Past, Discovering the Future
Have you ever considered how governments solve complex problems in areas like immigration, healthcare or environmental protection? Through political science you will learn about national and international politics and policymakers. You will also learn valuable skills in critical thought, oral and written communication and quantitative reasoning—the very skills most useful to employers in fields like law, business and journalism, not just politics.
All majors are required to complete three core courses: Introduction to American Politics, Introduction to Global Politics and Research Methods for Political Science. Beyond the core courses, you may choose to major in political science without a concentration or to specialize in one of three concentrations: American politics, global politics or public law. Political science is a flexible major that can complement your many other interests, a second major or minors and prepare you to engage an increasingly complex world.
